Full Sony RX10 IV review – Superzoom, Continuous shooting and fast focusing

It’s high time for to give you a full Sony RX10 IV review with all seperate creterion, respectively. Let’s take more carefull looks!

Design and settings

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 IV has a powerful appearance, including a 2.36m OLED viewfinder and 3-inch LCD touchscreen with 1.44m resolution.

Sony RX10 IV review

RX10 IV functions image balances with the Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 25x lens, focal length of 24-600mm. It uses optical image stabilization named SteadyShot to minimize the camera shake up to 4,5 stop points.

The optical desing combinated with 8 ultra-low dispersion viewfinders and 6 globular viewfinders to control distortions while zooming. The maximum aperture is up to f/2.4-4 under the low-light conditions.

Build and handling

  • Comfortable handgrip
  • Dust and moisture resistance
  • Weighs 1095g

The handle of this camera works well with the large and comfortable handgrip. So, you can hold and use it in the left hand.

The 3-control rings help us control the manual focus and aperture zoom. The aperture ring is set for click-less operation by using the button below the barrel.

Sony RX10 IV review

The exposure compensation is perfect while setting the shutter speed. I’m highly impressed with the single-shot and continuous autofocus with an A mode between 2 subject’s movements. Manucal focus and Direct manual focus mode are great.

Sony RX10 IV has 2 zooming controllers to operate well at many different speeds. The lever of the shutter button is quite quick, which enables users to reacquire the subjects. The AF stop is set by default.

Plus, it’s easy to adjust ISO by some simple steps of pressing C1 button on the body. Honestly, RX10 IV is very use-worthy. But, the touchscreen seems under-utilised, so it’s not used for menu or setting changes.

Performance and image quality

  • Great and sharp lens
  • Excellent 20.1MP 1-inch sensor
  • Sluggish AF in low-light

In my view, this Sony Cyber-shot RX10 IV highlights with the new 24-600mm lens for absolutely perfect performance throughout zoom range.

The focal length is also notably sharp with the posibility of decentering as the tack-sharp right side. The focal length of the telephoto is impressive up to 600mm.

I see the diffraction is more remarkable by f/11 despite more sharp details. And, the f/16 focal length is fall-off in quality.

Sony RX10 IV review

The colours of the images taken from this SOny RX10 IV are seemingly punchy and pleasing with various custimizing options, resolution and dynamic ranges.

The more higher sensitivities get, the more impressive the quality of the JPEG images is. Especially, JPEG quality is better at ISO over 1600 with controlable noise levels.

Viewfinder and screen

RX10 IV with the SLR-like appearance allows users to view well, including eye-level electronic viewfinder or tilting rear screen.

Sony RX10 IV review

Wow! If you’re looking for a full-frame DSLR camra, this Sony RX10 is an ideal option with the 2.36-m dot electronic viewfinder, equivalent to 0.7x magnification.

Users can preview the exposure and the depth of field to adjust shooting settings with the accurate color rendition and minimal lag.

Why Should you Buy Sony RX10 IV camera?

With a variety of smart and professional functions, this RX10 IV is one of the worthiest Sony Cybershot cameras for both professional, semi-professional photographers and beginners.

If you’re a camera with the superzoom, Continuous shooting and fast focusing, this RX10 IV is an ideal option. It uses an Exmor RS CMOS sensor with the resolution of 20.1 MP, and BIONZ X image processors for such the best sharpest photos.

The video recording isn’t less high-quality than the shooting with 4K and Full HD. Thanks to the smart Wifi connection and NFC, you can share easily all images and videos online with your friends.
