Canon EOS 6D Mark II Review – Various Professional Improvements
Canon EOS 6D Mark II is the newest full-frame camera with more various improvements than the 5-year-ago predecessor.
Among DSLR EOS full-frame cameras, EOS 6D mark II has the most compact design in the current market but enough functions of a DSLR full-frame line.
According to photographyprof.com, this Canon 6D mark II is very suitable for those who need to upgrade their crop-sensor camera or look for a hubrid one.
Equiped with the 26.2MP CMOS full-frame sensor with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, this 6D mark II can focus quickly for Live View mode. DIGIC 7 image processor helps allow the highest image quality even under the low-light conditions.
This is the first DSLR full-frame camera with the multi-direction rotatinh touchscreen, which allows users to record movie and shoot at both high and low angles.
I’m strongly sure that the 6D mark II is completely better than the 6D, in general. In terms of the image quality, 6D mark II isn’t much as overwhelming as 6D. But, the sharpness and details are remarkably different.
6D mark II seems to use the same algorithm as 5D mark IV, so the colors are similar but slightly excellent. All shortcomings of 6D don’t appear at 6D mark II at all.
This Canon 6D EOS mark II is a suitable full-frame for crop improvements with many more advanced functions than those of the predecessor 6D and even the legendary 5D mark III (but less advanced than EOS 5D mark IV).
You’re looking for a hybrid camera for both recording and shooting with a more reasonable price than 5D mark IV, aren’t you? Or if you want to upgrade your srop camera, this Canon EOS 6D mark II is the best choice.

Full Canon EOS 6D Mark II Review – Various Professional Improvements
It’s high time to give you a full Canon EOS 6D mark II review with all seperate creterion, respectively. Let’s take more carefull looks!
Design and Appearance
Canon EOS 6D mark II has a quite “modest” design in comparison with the current DSLR camera lines of Canon such as 5D mark IV, 1DX mark II.
The front face has a lens slot, on/off switch button with the Canon logo and the product-line name. It also has a tiny corner at the right bottom.
In the back of this camera, there are many function buttons, a convenient view finder and a multi-direction rotating touchscreen for high and low-angle shooting.
The 6D mark II’s LCD screen can display 1.04 million image points and support the multi-point sensor. It’s capable of rotating 360 degrees as the photo below.
The rorating wheel allows customizing the shooting modes by pressing the latch of the rotating gear. There is micro USB, HDMI and mic ports to the left while it has only one sd card slot to the right.
The bottom of 6D mark II has a battery-charging slot and a circular bezel so as to add more accessories or camera tripods.
Canon 6D mark II has the touchscreen for easy customization of shooting parameters and subject-focusing quickly and accurately.
Compared to Canon EOS 6D review with only cross-shaped 11-point focus, EOS 6D mark II is upgraded with cross-shaped 35-point focus. Thus, it can focus better even in the edge of the viewfinder.
Addtionally, EOS 6D mark II has the continuous shooting speed up to 6.5 images per second. So, it records easily such motion-subjected images.
The ISO dynamic rane of the 6D mark II is well improved up to 40,000 (expanding to maximum 102,400) for the sharpest photos under the even low-light conditions.
Canon EOS 6D mark II has higher image points than that of the predecessor. The DIGIC 7 is the Canon’s newest image processor. The ISO range is higher with ISO 10,000.

This photo is taken at night. You can see obviously the transitions from the dark to the bright areas. It shows the changes of the color tones with the diverse details.
The foreground seems more notable than the background, which brings the feeling of the depth.
Video recording and quality
Basically, 6D mark II’s dramatic changes help shoot and record videos more quickly and easily than ever. The increase in the ISO range and low-noised ISO processing helps produce sharper images under the low-light conditions.
With 45-point focus (more than the predecessor of 34 points) is a good improvement. It means that the cameramen can easily choose the layouts.
The DPAF focusing technology and the rorating touchscreen support recording videos more easily than ever. Video frame rate 60p allows users to record the motions more smoothly or such good slow-motion shots.
A good news for those who were looking forwards to this Canon EOS 6D mark II is the capability of AF video recording.
While many crop and full-frame camera types can record 4K videos, escpecially the predecessor EOS 6D with various small production house, this Canon 6D mark II doesn’t have but at the timelapse movie.
I’m really into the AF performance with 45 points (11 points more than Canon EOS 6D). Also, the color-detection AF improves the face detection for the outdoor photos.
The Intelligent viewfinder II enables cameramen to see the AF points and electronic balance even while setting the layouts.
AF system operating well for the Live View are Dual Pixel CMOS AF with the high speed of focusing, and high accuracey via the AF phase-detection images.

Canon EOS 6D mark II meets all demands and expectations of the Canon enthusiasts. More AF points, higher megapixel sensor, strong noise processing are super excellent.
In addition, the faster shooting speed and, most interestingly, the rotating touchscreen with the DPAF mode are the most prominent features.
Compared to other full-frame cameras, Canon EOS 6D mark II has a quite reasonable price. It’s an awesome replacement of a crop-sensor camera or a hybrid one.
